Micah Paul Hinson vient du Texas. Il a eu une vie entre 81 et 2003 puis en 2004 il se fait aider des autres texans de The Earlies pour enregistrer son premier album, Micah P. Hinson and the Gospel of Progress. Les deux seconds, The Baby and the Satellite et Micah P. Hinson and the Opera Circuit, sortent sur Jade Tree records en 2005 puis 2006. On est en 2008, quand est-ce que sort le quatrième album -bordel ?
En 2006 il se joint à John Mark Lapham (ne me demandez pas qui c'est) pour former le groupe The Late Cord et enregistrer un court album de cinq titres intitulé Lights from the Wheelhouse, inclus le merveilleux Lila Blue.
Sinon, fun : on the 8th December 2007 Hinson proposed to his girlfriend at the end of performing at a concert with the Mountain Goats, Alisdair Roberts and Emmy the Great at the Union Chapel in Islington London. She said yes.
